This year, SWE Philadelphia joined over 200 international Girls in Aviation Day events across more than 30 countries, with more than 40,000 youth attendees participating at the American Helicopter Museum & Education Center.
Our volunteers, Huma Naqvi and Lauren Heisey, joined the career panel and shared their engineering journeys, their paths into the aviation and manufacturing industry and the challenges they’ve overcome along the way. At the SWE table, Stacey Brack, Sandra DW Barton, Huma Naqvi and Mohor Bhowmik engaged with students, families, and adults by sharing information about engineering career paths and leading hands-on activities. Participants explored the concept of center of gravity using paper planes and coins.
