Widener/SWE Engineering Girls Camp – Volunteers Needed!

The 2024 SWE/Widener University Engineering Girls Camp for high school girls has been scheduled for Saturday February 24 at the Widener University campus in Chester, PA (off I-95 at the bottom of the Blue Route, a few miles south of the Philadelphia airport). The camp runs from Noon to 5 PM, with 3 laboratory sessions and 2 panel discussions, and is an opportunity for high school girls interested in engineering and computer science to explore engineering and technology careers in a hands-on laboratory setting with women engineers, and with engineering students from Widener University. More information about the camp is available at www.widener.edu/engineering/girlscamp.

Please volunteer to help with this year’s camp by registering at https://form.jotform.com/230116107130941. All the labs are straightforward and there will be Widener students and faculty helping you. We try to assign volunteers to labs that are related to their field of work or their engineering discipline. Note that the labs have already been put together so your prep time prior to the camp is minimal.   Some examples are 3D Printing, Programming Robots, making artificial tissue, and learning how to manufacture foam.  We need volunteers from all disciplines, but especially in biomedical, chemical and robotics engineering as that is what interests a lot of our high school students.
