SWE Philadelphia 2025 Scholarships

Each year, the Philadelphia Section awards scholarships to full-time undergraduate or graduate students in engineering or related fields at local universities. Scholarships are typically $1000 or $2000. Preference will be given to those with paid SWE membership and those active in their collegiate sections.   

Previous SWE Philadelphia or Society scholarship winners are also eligible. For Society level and international scholarships, see the Scholarship Webpage.

Selection criteria include coursework in science, math, and engineering, activities, teamwork, leadership, scholarship, and an essay on personal motivations for pursuing engineering. Applicant are required to request one professional or academic reference to submit a letter of recommendation using the link below. Judging is conducted by members of the SWE Philadelphia Section Scholarship Committee.

The Philadelphia program supports students in schools located in Philadelphia, the greater Philadelphia area (including Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, and Berks counties), and the greater Harrisburg area (including Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin, York, Cumberland, and Perry counties).  Eligible schools and majors include but are not limited to:
