Danielle Schroeder, PE, ENV SP first joined SWE in 2012 as a first year at Drexel University. She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structural engineering in June 2017. Currently, she works in private consulting as a Transportation Engineer. For Philadelphia SWE, Danielle served as Collegiate Liaison in FY18 and Vice President of Outreach in FY19. She presented at the 2017 Region E Conference, WE17, WE Local Baltimore, WE21, WE Local Detroit, and WE23. Danielle is also currently the SWE Counselor for Drexel SWE. In her spare time, Danielle enjoys playing tennis, watching the Philadelphia Eagles with family and friends, and exploring all that Philly has to offer (especially all the wonderful food).
Maria Legato is an Sr Network Engineer at Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) in Mount Laurel, NJ. Prior to working at IDT, she worked as a civilian lead systems engineer for the Navy with Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD). She joined SWE in 2007 while attending the University of Pittsburgh, where she held multiple officer positions at the collegiate level, including Section President. She earned her MS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University while working for NAVAIR. Maria has held several different officer positions in Philadelphia SWE, including President, Secretary, and Section Representative.
In her spare time, Maria enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, and spending time with her family and friends. Her other hobbies include baking, reading, video games, and music.
